The board of directors of Trees, Inc. has chosen Mike English, a 37-year veteran of utility vegetation management, to serve as the company’s new president. David Fleischner, former company president, will remain chairman of the Trees, Inc. board and continue to have corporate oversight of Trees, Inc.
Originally from Memphis, Tenn., English gained his first 17 years of experience in vegetation management with Blume Tree Service in Tennessee and then in Texas. In 1998, while working for Asplundh Tree Expert Co., he was transferred to Northern California with a promotion to regional manager, overseeing vegetation management crews working in one division of Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). English was able to expand operations to multiple PG&E divisions, as well as various municipal utilities, and was elected vice president in 2010. He comes to Trees, Inc. with more than 37 years of industry experience, is an ISA Certified Arborist and a member of the International Society of Arboriculture and the Utility Arborist Association.
“Mike has the experience and leadership abilities to keep Trees, Inc. moving forward in great customer service and employee safety,” Fleischner said upon the announcement to the company’s 2,500-plus employees. “He will be tasked with leading the company as it continues to expand its national presence.”
